Description: The first item is of Globe Iron entitled “River of Iron: A History of The Globe Iron Company” by Dr. Raymond – Lynn Booth that was published in 1995. It details the history of the Globe Iron Company from its predecessors and original formation in 1872 through its closing in 1960 and what followed.

The second item is a reprint from the July 1941 issue of Metals and Alloys entitled “Production of Silvery Pig Iron”. This reprint features pictures and details of the production of pig iron at the plant of the Jackson Iron and Steel Company – commonly known as JISCO.

The third item is a news clipping from The Journal-Herald discussing the Globe Iron Company’s semi-professional football team know as “The Bears” in the 1920s.
