Description: Letter Opener, paper says: “This wooden Letter Opener was originally in the home of CHARLES and DORA BELLE RICE SMITH location on East Main St. (Walnut Hills Section) in Jackson, Ohio. Charles Smith (1857-1921) and Dora Belle Rice (1860-1950) were married in Jackson Co., Ohio, on March 5, 1882. There is a small picture located in the handle of the letter opener. It is not known who made the letter opener. This letter opener was given in July 1999 by Marjorie Johnson Mudgett (Mrs. Ralph D.) , Granddaughter of Charles and Dora Rice Smith.”
